Frances, my husband is a descendant of Roland HUGHES who died in Henderson Co., KY 1807 having come there from Sumner Co., the 1790's. There is a court document in Henderson Co. which mentions a Joseph SLOSS in connection with the HUGHES family. I have found both a Joseph SLOSS and a Roland HUGHES in Orange Co., NC and wondered if they were the same people mentioned in the Henderson Co. court record. Since Sumner Co., TN early on would have been adjacent to Davidson Co., TN, I wondered if the Roland HUGHES in Sumner could be the same Roland HUGHES in Davidson. Mary Louise
