This couple married 12 June 1797 in Orange CO NC. Elias Turner Sr was bondsman. Mary was the widow of Benjamin Humphris (however one spells it!), and had two young children, William and Armin. They had at least four children: Asa born 1804, Elizabeth born 1806, Mary born @1808, all in Orange CO, and Elias III born 1811 in Henderson CO KY. Elias II died 1834 White CO IL, Mary Turner died 1846 Chariton CO MO. I am looking for maiden name of Mary, any info on Benjamin Humphries, and where Elleby's Fork may have been -- that was where the property owned by Mary was located, possibly in Wake CO. It sold in 1813, her brother-in-law Asa Turner (another one) having power-of-attorney. I descend from both Asa and Elizabeth, and am corresponding with descendants of William Humphreys and Elias Turner III. Elias II probably was brother to the William Turner who married Fanny Sutherland, daughter of Mordecia, in 1797.
