Chris, see my posting #315 of 21 Sept. 2000 on Orange Co., NC Genforum. A James Reed could also be a son of William Reed who d. 1764 Orange Co; perhaps Rebecca was James' daughter, seeing that they named a son James. I know that Rebecca was a very common name in the descendants of Nathaniel Reed. I have thought that a Rebecca was possibly the wife of Nathaniel, but the name may go back further than that. I believe James Reed was in Orange Co. ca. 1755. KRB
