Charles Morgan #1 b. ca 1720 place unk. was in Orange Co NC by 1751 He had a mill on the Haw River. At the reformation of the counties his land was then located in Chatham Co NC. He had 6 son, Edward, Charles, William, Joseph, John, Zacariah and 2 daughters, Hannah West and Rachel Stewart. Charles Morgan died in 1787 in Chatham Co and left a will.
We are sure that Charles # 1 son William was married to a Mille Brewer and they both died in Chatham Co on the same day in ca 1805 leaving 5 sons one of which was named Daniel who went to Christian Co., KY with his grandfather Nathanial Brewer and his Uncle George Brewer. We do not know at this time who the other boys are but could be Alston and Nathan. Joseph's wife's name was Phebe, and they had a daughter Polly who married Abe Brewer. We do not know Where Abe Brewer fits into the Brewer line. Polly and Abe Brewer had a daughter Milly Brewer who married a William Morgan who was the son of the above named Zachariah Morgan son of Charles Morgan #1. Charles Morgan #2 who was the son Charles # 1 along with Zachariah, as well as their sister Rachel Stewart (who was married to a John Stewert) began selling their father's and their own land between 1800-1805 in Chatham Co. NC. They then began buying land in Montgomery Co., NC. Charles Morgan #2 is my ancestor and he had sons Joseph Morgan who was married to Susannah Smart, Spencer Morgan who was married to Elizabeth Tolbert, Willis Morgan who was married to Bethany Bailey Delamoth, John Morgan who was married Phebe Bean, Hardy Morgan who was married to Nancy Elizabeth Hearn, Henry Morgan who was married to Elizabeth Dennis. Charles Morgan #2 had 3 daughters whose names were Allie, Nancy and the third may have been named Hixie Anderson Morgan. All of these people were in Montgomery Co. NC between 1805 and 1845. About 1845 many began to leave Montgomery Co and go to Ga., Dekalb Co., TN, Calloway and Christion Co KY. Any information you guys could share with me about these people would be greatly appreciated. I will share my gedcom file with anyone who would like to have it. Thanks, Janet Morgan Brown
