I recently saw an Orange County house, built by Nicholas Corbett Hester in 1882, for sale by Preservation North Carolina, a historic preservation group. I am NOT a representative of PNC, but thought someone might be interested or know some descendants of the house's builder. It sounds like a great buy to me if you know what land prices are going for in the Triangle right now. It's $63,500 and sits on a 20-acre lot. That works out to $3175 an acre! The house may be seen at http://www.presnc.org/properties/.
Hope this is of interest to someone.
