James,
I am currently trying to make the connection for my Clark family who left Orange County for Giles County, TN., circa 1808-1809. Records show a widow Clark and sons arriving there at that time.

I located these wills here & wonder if the James listed might be the James Clark you mention:

Orange County, North Carolina Wills
CLARK, JAMES, Elizabeth, James, Thomas, William, Jesse, Eleanor, James, Katrina. 1781
CLARK, THOMAS, Susanna, Sarah, Mary, Catherine, Thomas, William. 1782
CLARK, WILLIAM, William, James, Susanna, John, Hannah, Mary. 1795

My 3rd g. grandfather was Thomas Clark, b.1771 N. C., d. 1843 Giles, TN. & he named a son James.

I'd like to know more about the James Clark you mentioned.

Gloria
