Nelsons of Orange County, N. C.
Posted by: Ann Davis (ID *****3385) Date: January 21, 2012 at 10:32:57

This is a task in futility but I am trying to find a connection of Wm. Nelson Esquire of Laurens County, S. C. with any Nelson family in Orange County. In 1790 Wm. Nelson, identified as "planter" of Orange County, N. C., sold land that had been granted to him in 1773 to William Taylor. The amount of land was 100 acres, indicating that perhaps Wm. Nelson was married when he received the grant and his birth year might be 1750-53.

This is a tedious process and I can find no clue as to the parentage of Wm. Nelson Esquire who died in Laurens County, S. C. 1848, leaving a will which establishes his family in Laurens. I would appreciate any advice & help. Many thanks, Ann C.Davis
