Hawkins roads in Orange County

Does anyone know the history of Hawkins Road in Orange County, about five miles south of Hurdle Mills? William Hawkins (1725/26-after 1764), who emigrated to Orange County from Baltimore County MD ca. 1764, had property on the Flat River nearby this location.

Also, Hawkins Loop Road, is located immediately south of Hurdle Mills in Person County. Ephraim Hawkins (1761-1836), purchased and sold land in the 1790s and early 1800s on the Bushy Fork of Flat River near here, and I am curious if the road name is tied to him.

Are either of these roads related to these early settlers?

thanks,
Ken Hawkins
Silver Spring MD
