I am interested in the postings made in 2007 regarding George Pratt (b. 1777) of Orange County, N.C. I am a direct descendant of George Pratt through the line that stayed in Orange County. I would like to know more about James Pratt, his father, and the origin of the Orange County Pratts. Does anyone know if the Orange County Pratts are related to the Quaker Pratts from the Philadelphia area? George's son, Thomas George Pratt and his wife, Nancy Hart, were Methodist and are buried in the Chestnut Ridge church cemetery outside Efland, N.C. My greataunt, who was the Pratt historian in our family, wrote me that the Pratts were first located near New Hope Presbyterian Church, and relocated to the Chestnut Ridge area. I am also interested in William Pratt, whose name was listed on the Rev. War monument at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Orange County.
