Griffin Family in early Orange & Chatham County
Posted by: Jim Copeland (ID *****6271) Date: January 02, 2008 at 12:17:41

I'm searching for any available information on the early Orange County NC and also Chatham formed from part of Orange County. Specifically the Griffin's found from around 1750 thru 1800. I have some information however nothing about the families of the men listed in Census and Tax records.
The primary family I'm interested in is Rev War soldier Richard Griffin, Richard was born about 1756 in Orange county NC. Later the area where he lived became Chatham. The info is from his Rev War pension application. Does anyone know his parents or siblings? I'm also interested in the Copeland family in the area where he lived, I suspect that Richard or a close relative married into the Copeland family.
Thanks in advance for any information ..... Jim
