Williams Family Onslow NC and Monmouth NJ

Has anyone come across a connection between the Williams family of Richlands, Onslow County, North Carolina, and the Williams family of Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey, in the mid-to-late 1700's?

Both families used the given names Obediah and Hezekiah for their children during that time period, and while not uncommon names, they are not that common either, thereby suggesting a possible relationship between these two families. There are additional reasons why I believe these two families are related as well.

If there is a connection, it would break through a long standing "brick wall" and answer a lot of open questions.

Thanks for your help!
