Maynor/Maynard/Mainard/Maner/Manor/etc.

I'm seeking info on the Maynor family, with various spellings, who moved from Virginia to Onslow County, NC, sometime in the late 1600s or early 1700s. I am trying to figure out exactly who the father of Henry Maynor, b. c1764, was. I am almost sure he was a descendant of John Maynor (Maynard, etc.) of Virginia, but I have not yet been able to trace the exact lineage.
