I thought that anyone working on the Houston family of Onslow Co, NC would be interested in this. I have no connection to the Houston family. My Mitchell family of Onslow Co, were evidently close friends and neighbors of this Houston family. Also I happen to have all four vol. of the transcribed Onslow County Court Minutes, as well as the originals on micro film. Hope you enjoy having this.

William Patterson of Accomack County, Virginia, blacksmith, for natural love and affection deeds to his grandson William Houston of White Oak River, son of Thomas Houston of the same place, for 6 pence current money a negro man named Will, in possession of Thomas Houston. Signed, William Patterson.
Deed from William Patterson to Isabell & Mary Ramsey for a negro woman dated Dec. 21, 1731-32. William Patterson of Accomack Co, VA blacksmith, for natural love and affection deeds to his 2 granddaughters, Isabell and Mary Ramsey, daughters of Bernard Ramsey and Elizabeth his wife, now the wife of John Gillett of White Oak River, Onslow Precinct, a negro woman called Hannah, in the possession of John Gillett. It appeared John Gillett sold the negro woman Hannah without Pattersons authority and Patterson demanded that Gillett purchase another negro women for his granddaughters within a year.
