I recently inherited my g-g-g-grandmother's sampler, dated October 1833. Her name was Elizabeth Priscilla Mason and the sampler was done at "Jackson Academy." I think that she was from Northampton County and attended a school in Jackson. (The school building is pictured on the sampler.)
Has anyone ever heard of Jackson Academy? Is anyone else reseaching the Mason family from Northampton Co? (Elizabeth married Joseph John Benjamin Pender (1814-1868) of Edgecombe County.
