Hi Deloris,
Very few, if any, of the Walden's were slaves. The Waldens came out of Surry Co. VA in the 1700's and they were mostly mulatto. They had heavey Native American ancestry. I am researching them off and on as I am concertrating on another line at this time. I did not find an Elisabeth Walden in my database but there me be some connections to one of her siblings.
