I've recently rec'd from NC Archives a copy of Allen Jones will & am in the process of transcribing it - this one has the difficulty of no crossed 't's. Anyway . . .
Within the first Item he is describing the lands connected to Mt. Gallant Plantation by naming from whom he purchased" " . . . all the lands called Mount Gallant & those tracts adjoining the sd Plantation connecting of the land I bought of Wm Dawson, Anthony Tucker, Benjamin Peebles & his wife, Henry Vernon & his wife, a small tract I patented & a tract I bought of John Bell & others for which I have not yet got a deed, and all the Islands I own on the North side of Roanoke river . . ."
Questions: any researchers for these men who sold Allen Jones their land that might have deed information (date? DB#, etc?) and who might have a bit of history of the sellers?
