Thomas, Flora & Edmund Corbyn - Wilmington - 1770/1785
Posted by: John Collins (ID *****7446) Date: April 25, 2009 at 20:28:38
  of 601

Edmund Corbyn was killed at the Battle of Trafalgar on October 21, 1805, while serving as a Midshipman on H.M.S. Mars.

In claiming a bounty the following year, his mother Flora Corbyn made oath that she is the widow of Thomas Corbyn, and that she was married at Wilmington, North Carolina, upwards of thirty years ago. Further deposes she is a native of N. America, and has been settled in England twenty years at the time of the death of her son.

I am looking for information about Thomas Corbyn.
