Holly Shelter area is north of Burgaw, about 4 miles on hwy. 53 east. The area around Shelter Creek, and land around the Crooms Bridge road, are all considered Holly Shelter community. This is between Burgaw and Maple Hill, closer to the North East Cape Fear River. Shelter Creek branches off this river, with twists and turns that bring the creek close to hwy. 53 about 6 miles from Burgaw.
