Walkers in NC

I saw that there was a large number of Walkers in New Hanover County. I am searching for the father of my Benjamin Franklin Walker, born in NC in 1808. He was in GA by 1832 marrying Mahala Vaughn. In Oglethorpe Co., GA he was witness to the will of Martin Dowdy in about 1843. Living next to the Dowdy family in 1840 was Elijah Walker. I found one Elijah who was born in New Hanover. I know that I am grasping at straws and that there are many Benjamin F. and Elijah Walkers, but just maybe this Elijah is Ben's father or brother. I believe the parents did move to GA between 1808 and 1818 when another possible brother, Terrell, was born.

If anyone has been researching his/her own Benjamin Walker, maybe mine was one you found that did not fit for you. I have found many name duplications for other ancestors. I am still holding information on some of those.
