Some genealogies have Clifton Bowen married to Elizabeth Harris and they moved into New Hanover in the early 1700's. David is listed sometimes as a son of these two and Luke is almost certainly very closely related. These Bowen's migrated from the Salem/Cohansey County area of South New Jersey. There ancestry is traced back into the Rehoboth area in the mid to late 1600's and Richard Bowen who arrived in Weymouth Massachusetts about 1638 is regarded as the ancestor of this particular line.
