Searching for Simpsons

As it the case, I've hit a brick wall. My ancestor was a William Simpson. His brother (Obediah, Obadiah) life is more well defined in that he was born in and around Cape Fear North Carloina 1755/1758 (I have seen both dates)moved to New York where he fought for thr British in the American War of Independance then imigrated to Nova Scotia, back the the area of Weschester County New York where he married and then on to Ontario Canada. William and Obediah vouched for each other when they applied for land grants as United Empire Loyalists here in Canada. Family legend has it that their father was also named Obediah and he was a planter in the Cape Fear area who had earlier immigrated from Scotland.Does this ring a bell for anyone because if it does, I can list for you 7 or 8 generations of Canadian cousins.
