My name is Harold Edwards and have been doing research on John Edwards who lived in Southampton County Virginia. Southampton was formed from Isle of Wright Virginia.John Edwards and many other families from Surry Isle of Wright and Southampton had land on Fishing Creek and the Beaverdam area including the families you are researching. The Brantley association has put almost all the old records of Southampton on the internet. Many of the families in Southampton also had land in North Carolina.Hope this helps.
