In the name of god, Amen: This twelvth day of May in the year of our Lord 1782. I Benjamin Flowers Senior of Nash County in the province of North Carolina, planter being weak in body but in perfect sence and memory thanks be giving to god for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give my soul to God that gave it and as for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a decent and christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldy estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in manner and form following that is to say in the first place.
Item: I give and bequeath to my son WILLIAM FLOWERS my land and plantation where on I now live if ever he comes back and if he never comes back I give it unto my three daughters DYCEA, MARY AND RACHAEL to be equally divided amongst the three excepting my wifes third.
Item: I also give unto my son WILLIAM FLOWERS one bed and furniture and three cows and calves and my young Rone mare.
Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter DYCEA FLOWERS three cows and calves and a young gray mare and a bed and furniture.
Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter MARY FLOWERS three cows and calves and a white horse and a bed and furniture.
Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter RACHAEL FLOWERS three cows and calves and my black colt and a bed and furniture. I also give my old gray mare to my wife. All the rest of my goods and chattels to be equally divided amongest my four children, WILLIAM FLOWERS, DYCEA FLOWERS, MARY FLOWERS AND RACHAEL FLOWERS.
Item: I give to my daughter LURANA NICHOLS, one shilling and nor more.
Item: I give to my son JACOB FLOWERS, one shilling and no more.
Item: I give to my son BENJAMIN FLOWERS, one shillings and no more.
Item: I give to my son JOHN FLOWERS, one shillings and no more.
Item: I give to my daughter JANE ROW, one shillings and no more.
I likewise constitute and make and ordain my wife MARTHA FLOWERS and MICHEL HERN my executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disannull all other former testaments, wills and legacies or executors by me in any ways before this time named willed and bequeathed confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereto let my hand and seal, the day and year above written.

The within will was exhibited in open court by one of the executors therein named and proved by the oath of JOSEPH PHILIPS subscribing witness thereto who swore he saw JETHRO PHILIPS and CORNELUS JORDAN SR. sign the same as the witness which is ordered to be recorded and registered.
