Gail, are you still looking for Mark Mogan information Nash? I have his father as Henry Morgan of Nash and I think the grandchild of Hardy Morgan 1752 and Sarah Alston married in Birtie, later of Orange, NC. When you look on a map of that time frame Cumberland was in that area. Hardy had a son Mark and a son later named Hardy living in Nash This hardy was married to Elizabeth, Hardy died 1811 naming children William and Henry and I think this Henry who married Sarah, was the father who was the son of your Mark you are looking for. Henry had 3 children who died at age 34 and are buried near Tarboro and the other children moved to KY, Ga. The Nash connection was thru John Morgan Sr. born 1749 married to Rutha Stallings. John Sr was Hardys brother both served in the Rev War and their father was James Morgan born 1714. Hardy father and James Morgan family were John Morgan and Anne Barbee from Essex co Va. John died in 1733 and his wife remarried to doctor Caruther and moved with her sons to NC. Johns father was John Dorian Morgan of Barbodos son of Sir Thomas Morgan of Caerleon Wales others have said he was the nephew of Sir Edward Morgan who was the gov of Jamaca.
Ship records show John Dorian Morgan and wife Katherine Lewis coming to VA. We had DNA and our line goes to Caerleon Wales too.
I have others in your KY area also looking for Mark Morgan and I say study this line ver carefully as all the names you listed James , Lemurel, Mark and others all are the descendants of Hardy Morgan.
