Would anyone know something about the family of Nancy Williams my great great grandmother. Her mother was Mrs. Aley Griffin who, in the census of 1850, is shown living on her farm with the family of Burtis and Candis Cone, their children, and her daugher and granddaughter, Nancy (age 22) and Martha (age 2) Williams. Nancy later had a son, Cleff Davis Williams in 1861 who married Mary Elizabeth Strickland (her parents were Mahalia and Madison Strickland). Cleff Davis died in 1898 when my grandfather, Cleff Davis Jr., was one year old. I know nothing about any other members of the family at that time except that Nancy Williams had a daughter, Martha, born about 1848 and she had a son, Joseph, about 1875. Nancy would have been born around 1828 or 1829 to Aley Griffin and her husband; she died in the early 1880s. I cannot find any record of other brothers or sisters to Nancy Williams, nor can I find any record of her grandson, Joseph Williams. If anyone knows about this family and how the Griffins, Cones and Williams are related, please contact me. (I'm guessing that Aley Griffin might have had a first marriage to a Cone and that Burtis and Burkley Cone were her children; otherwise, Candis Cone might have been her daughter before she married Burtis. And I have no idea what Aley's maiden name might have been.) Thanks, Linda
