I didn't have the info regarding the father of Humphrey Basse, John Basse born 1540. Thanks! Also the John Bass who died in 1777, I didn't have his wife's name.(Elizabeth Winburn). I have the "Bass Families of the South" book and I see the name of your ancestor, Jacob Bass, died 1792, in Franklin county. This page of the book is very confusing to me. John Bass, III, John Bass, Jr., John Bass Sr.!
But, I feel sure that the issue of John Bass, Jr., listed at the bottom of the page, which includes Isaac Bass, is the same Issac Bass(sometimes spelled Basse)whose will you posted. By the way, I called the Nash County courthouse, and the wills aren't on line, how did you post it? Do you have any other wills? I am new to this geneology business!
Isaac Bass(1800 will)son, Jethro, died 1819, to Embro, died 1855, married Isley Batchelor, to Isaac Bass(born 1846, having trouble getting any other info on him, and he is my great grandfather, CLOSE relative)to Joseph Robert Bass, my grandfather(died 1958, when I was 14) is my Bass family.
I found all this Nathaniel Basse info just going to Google.com. Basse's Choice in Virginia, etc. How do we really know this is all true?
I guess we are distant cousins?
