My Wife's family came from Nash Co and she had several ancestors who signed the petition for seperation of Edgecombe Co into two counties. In Nashville, County Seat of Nash Co. there is a nice book about the county, it is in a notebook form in the Tax Office. Good history of the county, called "By The Dawn's Early Light".
