I have found a Mourning Whitfield who married William Murray I while digging around in my own ancestral background. This Mourning Whitfield according to census records was probably born around 1809. She apparently had a son out of wedlock when she married William Murray. His name was Joel Whitfield. She had two children by William Murray. Their names were William Henry and Edith Ann. I believe Mourning's parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Whitfield. Two brothers named Willis and Matthew Whitfield. Sorry for such a late reply but have just checked out this web page. Hope this may help.
