I was searching the 1900 census for a member of a Griffin family who was suppose to have died in Red Oak, Nash Co., N. C. in 1904. I did find them living in Stoney Creek Township. The town of Red Oak is just about 8 or 10 miles north of Rocky Mount N. C. on state road 43. So I suspect that is the area of Stoney Creek Twp. Good Luck. Melba
