Nash Co., NC Petitions:
Estate sale of Hardy Anderson by Samuel L. Arrington, Oct 9, 1834. Benjamin Screws was principal buyer.
Drake, Adeline account current with the estate of Kelly Rawls, decd. The money from the Adeline H. Drake estate was to be divided equally according to the will among the following: Eliza Harris; the estate of Klly Rawls, decd; the children of Mourning Screws, wife of Benjamin Screws. (no date shown)
Petition for division of land made by Littleton Screws through his guardian, Alex Sorsby. His father, Henry Screws, left a 400 acre tract of land in his will to be divided between said Littleton and his brother, William screws. William Screws died intestate in 1797, leaving two other brothers, John Screws and James Screws, one sister, Sally Screws, and a sister's daughter named Anny Robertson as additional heirs. May Term of court 1805.
Petition for a sale of negroes made by Jethro Denson, administrator of Edward Cooper, decd. Littleton Screws married a daughter of Benjamin Cooper, one of the heirs of said Edward Cooper. The heirs of Littleton Screws were minors. February Term of Court 1837.
