Seek the location of the grave of Mrs. Mary Gracie Jewett, 1st wife of then Smithville, now Southport, N.C., 1838 U.S. postmaster, Stephen Jewett, IV; born Hollis, Maine (N.H.?). She died and was buried on a trip to Moore County, N.C., June 13, 1842. Jewett removed to Wilmington, N.C., and there wed 2nd, Miss Lucy Anna Bradley, daughter of Bank of Cape Fear officer Richard Bradley, Jr. He was an officer of, and signed the money of the Bank of Wilmington. He was buried 1862 at the Bradley family summer home chapel, Lebanon Mission, Bradley's Creek, Wilmington; now the city park "Airlie Gardens". Jewett had no issue by Miss Gracie.
