Seeking information on EDWARD HARRIS and his wife, FRANCES, who deeded their interest in a tract of land to ROLAND (sic) HARRIS. Said deed to be certified in Montgomery Co, NC. Wilson Co., TN, Circuit Court, Book 1832-1833, 9-28-1832, p. 225.
Who were the parents of Edward Harris? Frances? and what was the relationship between Edward and Rowland? Rowland was not a son. Perhaps a brother?
Edward was an early resident of Wilson Co., TN. and served as Justice of the Peace for a number of yesrs. His 1840 will mentions:
(1) wife, Frances;
(2) three grandchildren: Tacitus E. HArris, Joseph H. Harris and America E. Harris, children of Joseph H. Harris, decd;
(3) sons; Charles T. Harris; Simon T. Harris; West Harris;
William B. Harris; and Absalom S. Harris
(4) daughter: Martha Woodrum, wife of William Woodrum
(5) daughter: Patience Clemmons, wife of Edwin Clemmons
(6) daughter: Frances W. Harris (later married Zachariah W.
Frazer
a 7th child was daughter, Edith L. Harris who married
William Donnell.
