The Newell DNA Project "www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/newell/" now has 36 participants. Most of us "brick walled" researchers have ancestry tracing back to NC. Primary counties of interest include Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Brunswick, Bladen, Duplin, Wayne, Union, and Cumberland for most of our NC ancestors. Are there any resident NC Newells that we can encourage to test?? Any others who can trace their ancestry to the late 1700s NC are very much needed.
