Clarence was the son of Hoyle Lutz and Clla R Peeler

Inscription:
Died in the service of his country at sea Atlantic Area U.S.S. Turner Jan. 3, 1944
He stands in the unbroken line of patriots who have dared to die. That freedom might live and grow and increase its blessings. Freedom lives and through it he lives in a way that humbles the undertakings of most men.

Note: Monument: Missing in Action or Buried at Sea U.S.S. Turner (DD 648) Battery Park, New York City, New York, USA

Burial:
Body lost at sea
