David abondoned his wife from Spartanburg (Ester) and was living in the old Bid shack near The Walt Henderson Place. Paddle foot (the sheriff) came to arrest him at the Bid shack, but allowed David enough time to slip away. He caught a train or a bus for Idaho and stayed there until he died.
