I found a Ludie Baker in the 1880 US Census, living in Halifax Co., NC. She was born abt. 1869 and age 11. In the household were:

Thomas Bird, father, age 28, ca. 1828

Madora Bird, mother, age 24, ca. 1832

Charlotte Bird, daughter, age 3, ca. 1877

Ludie Bird, daughter, age 11, ca. 1869

Jimmie Bird, brother, age 9, ca. 1871

It gives the family race as Mulatto...were they? I am just making sure.

If you need further assitance with your research.. I am happy to help you! Just send me an email at brysonhatfield@live.com....
