I saw your postin on the web about Maxfield Henslee. Maxfield Henslee was a direct ancestor of mine. The information I have obtained is that he was born abt. 1724 in Goochland, Va. to William Henslee (abt 1800-1770 in Goochland)and died before August 1801 in Caswell County, North Carolina. He was a Revolutionary war veteran with a war pay voucher from N.C. I beleive he got the land in N.C. as compensation for his service. His father was William Henslee b. abt 1700 in Goochland Va. and died about 1770 in Caswell Cnty, N.C. His descendants qualify for membership in the Daughters of the American Rev. or Sons of the A. R. based on his having been paid for service rendered (Haun NC Rev Army accounts Vol XI pg. 1325, certificate #431.) He was married to Martha Sneed (b: Abt 1725 m: Abt 1745 in Va. d: Aft. August 10, 1801 in Caswell Cnty.) Their sons and daughters were John, David (my limb of the tree) Mary, Sarah Susannah, Nancy Ann, William, Elizabeth, and another daughter , name unknown. My Great Grandfather was Maxfield F. Henslee who was married to Lucinda Matlock and is buried in our family cemetery (Fall Creek Cem.) in Acton, Tx. near Granbury, Tx. His Father Enoch Henslee is the oldest of the Henslees buried in Fall Creek. He must have hitched a ride with them to Texas. On a recent trip back for unfortunate reasons, I discovered a book in a Granbury Fudge shop named 'Hood County History in Picture and Story 1978.' It has a picture of Mack F. and Lucinda in rocking chairs on the porch of a log home. My email is whenslee@yahoo.com if you wish to contact me. I also have a copy of Macksfield's will date 1801.
