My gr-gr-gr-grandmother was supposed to be Native American. Her name was Anhikee(the best of my spelling), according the my gr-aunt. Census records spell her name Anaca. Records indicate that she was born in 1810 in NC, and that she is black. I do not know how she eneded up in Florida, but she was there in 1830 with her children.

I would like to know if this name is associated with the Cherokee nation, also the correct spelling and pronounciation. I would appreciate any help.
