I do not know who his parents are, but I have a hunch. By the 1810 census he was listed as a separate household in Mecklenburg Co, NC, so at 25 years old he had either bought land or was given some land from someone (probably either his father or father-in-law). It is unlikely he would have been able to afford to buy his property on his own in his early or middle 20's, therefore I feel very confident that whoever was the grantor of this land deed from about 1805 to 1810 would be his father. Is there anyone that could help find this deed listing Sampson Gray as GRANTEE from about 1805 to 1810 in Mecklenburg Co, NC? Thank you in advance if you can help.
