Hi: I'm verifying your death date for him for others who might not know how to look up records on Ancestry.

The original service card on Footnote (newly named Fold3 which has to be explained in order to figure out what it means) shows he died June 15, 1863 Cherokee Springs, GA "died from disease".

Even one of the indexes on Ancestry says: Survived the war? NO is the answer.

Where did some people come up with the name Hampton for his middle name? Only Docie's DC's shows Hampton. George's, John's and Nancy's all say Hamilton and Thomas gave Hamilton as middle name of one of this kids and as did another of Thomas's kids.

Hampton doesn't show up on any family records that I can find. Looking for any help with documentation on that matter.

Thanks.

Shirley
