Slave Cemeteries

McDowell County North Carolina Cemeteries Vol 1 published 1994, Vol 2 and 3 published 1995 by: Aldridge, Cox, Randolph, Silvers, have several listed as Slave Cemeteries.

I am interested in three of those. Would like to know who was the informant and who was the owner of the land and the slaves. In the place that was chosen for these cemeteries, each are in unusual places. In trying to understand ownership, slave communities and families from that area and time, I hope I will get a response from anyone that has information on these cemeteries or from the families of those who passed on many years ago.

Vol 3 page 160 Slave Cemetery, Turkey Cove Area.
Take 221N 8.8 mi turn left on 226 go to 226A 1.7 mi the cemetery is behind Junior Bailey's home.

Vol 3 page 161 Slave Cemetery, Turkey Cove Area.
Take 221N for 8.8 mi turn left on 226 go to 226A about 4.5 mi pass by the Turkey Cove Baptist Church. The slave cemetery is on a hill behind the first house past the church.

Vol 3 page 196 Slave Cemetery, Woodlawn Area.
Take 221N 9.5 mi turn left on Johnson Hollow Road. Go almost to end of road, cemetery is on right behind white house on right.

Your help will be appreciated.
