I am trying to tie together the surnames of Cherry, Biggs, and Cadenhead in 18th century Martin County (formed in 1774).

They are all listed on the 1775 tax list and I believe that James Cadenhead (a local school techer) married Biggs' daughter called "Mourning" on the Biggs family lineage that I have from the Internet (I believe that her name was really "Mary Ann" -- I have a hard time believing that anyone would name a child "Mourning"). She had been married to ??? Cherry who seems to have died before she married James Cadenhead. Biggs sold 100 acres to Cadenhead after the marriage of his widowed daughter to Cadenhead.

Does anyone have any information about these very early families in Martin County, NC (all this occurred circa 1775 just as the county was being formed)?
