I am researching the Nathaniel Davis and Dorthy "Dolly" Thomas. Does anyone know how they came to Buncombe, NC?
Nathaniel Davis b. 1784 d.May 1872
Dolly Thomas Davis b. 1794 d.Nov 1882
They were married in 1810.
Dolly Thomas Davis may have been born in Va but I have no verification of this.
Children were:
John R. Davis
Nathaniel Davis, Jr
Elizabeth Davis
James Davis
Peter Davis
Rachel Davis
Joseph Minzy Davis
Daniel Berre Davis
Harrison Davis
Kizah Davis
Jane Davis
Rebecca Davis
Polly Davis
In 1860 census they have an 18 yr old Elizabeth living with them
10 yrs later they have an 28 yr old Elizabeth 1 yr old Ruthy J.. I have not been able to identify the Elizabeth or Ruthy J.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Also any references that would be helpful. I can't buy all reference books but if one applies to this family, I can splurge:)
