Alarka is now in Swain Co. which was founded out of Jackson & Macon Cos. in 1871. Swain Co. Heritage Book states that it is thought that Uriah's father went to Tn. but Uriah married F. Dobson in Burke Co. then purchased land on Soco Creek in Jackson Co. NC, he then acquird land on Alarka Creek in then Macon Co. He sold some of this land to my 3rd Great Grand Uncle John Harvey Dehart who moved from Wayne Co. Ky in the late 1820s or early 1830s. Uriah died April 1838 but I can find no record in the Swain Co. Cemeteries Book of his place of interment. He may have been buried in a small family cemetery which has since been lost.
