Mrs. Myrtle Dowdle passed away Oct. 11, 2008. She was such a great help to me in getting my Long line established. She was a sweet, well-informed and knowledgable lady who loved her family. She pointed out that Andrew Jackson Long (my great grandfather) was actually the child of Margaret Long and Henry Ledbetter Carroll and that one of the Long grandchildren listed in the HH of Laban Long was my great grandfather.

I haven't been able to trace the Horne line to any extent. A. J. Long married Olivia Horne, the daughter of Wiliiam M. Horne and Caroline M. Mashburn. I have nothing definite beyond that.

I appreciate your reply.
