I am currently researching the “Smith” line of my family. I am a descendent of John Terrell Holbrooks and Lydia (or Lidia) Ann Smith. I am unable to find who Lydia Ann Smith’s parents where. She was born about 1845 in Georgia and died about 1915 in Macon County North Carolina. She is burred in the Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery. She and John had the following children:
(GGrandmother) Mary A. Holbrooks born Abt. 1875 died 12 Sep 1942
Married: John S. Pendergrass
Note: Mary became know as Minnie
Elizabeth Ann Holbrooks born abt. 1878
John Terrell Holbrooks born 24 May 1886 died 26 Aug 1958
James W Holbrooks born abt. 1879 died 21 Jan 1943
Alitha S Holbrooks born abt. 1874
William Holbrooks born abt. 1878
Lue Ella Holbrooks born abt. 1883 died 1916
Laura Holbrooks
I know that in the Census of 1910 Lydia was living with her son William. I have not been able to locate where John T. Holbrooks is burried. Any information on the Holbrooks or Smith families are greatly appreciated.
