Yes, Matilda Postell lived in Macon, Co. in fact the place where they lived used to be called Berry Cove and is just across from the Jackson, Co. line on the Tilley Creek/Ellejay Road. Her mother was indeed Margaret Chastain. The information that I have shows Margaret being born in South Carolina in 1764 and died in 1815. I do not have any information on where she is burried and I don't have any information on her parents or siblings. I do have information showing the Postell family going all the way back to France around 1630. If I can be of further help, let me know.
