GEORGE GUINN was born Abt. 1760 in Virginia, and died March 18, 1837 in Lincoln County, Missouri. He married ANNIE WHEELER February 23, 1789 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She was born Abt. 1770 in North Carolina, and died Bef. 1843 in Missouri.

The marriage bond for Ann Wheeler to George Gevin (Guin) on 23 Feb 1789 with Thomas Wheeler as surety and Jo Dickson as witness are recorded in Lincoln County, North Carolina. George signed with an X.

1800 Census of Lincoln County, North Carolina under the spelling George Guire age 26-45, 2 males under 10 (Thomas and William); female age 26-45 (Anny); 2 females under 10 (Sarah & Elizabeth) and 1 female 10-16. Probably a brother to George.

Lincoln County, Missouri tax records 1819-20. On tax list in Bedford Twp. appear the names of George Guinn, Thomas A. Guinn, William Guinn, Thomas Mann, and John Thurman.

1830 Census of Lincoln County, Missouri shows George Guinn heading a household of 1 male age 60/70 and a female age 60/70, a male age 16/20 and a male age 20/30. Also listed was William Guinn with a male 30/40, three males under 5, 2 females 20/30, and 2 females age 5/10.

Excerpt from Portrait and Biographical Album of Pike and Calhoun Counties, Illinois, published in 1891 article on Levi C. Bain.
"Our subject (referring here to Levi's father, John Bain) was united in marriage in early manhood to Mary Guinn who was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina in 1812...Her father, George Guinn, was a Virginian by birth and went from there to South Carolina with his parents, and thence to North Carolina where he married, taking as his wife, Annie Wheeler, a native of North Carolina. He finally moved to the Territory of Missouri, traveling overland and was pioneer of Lincoln County. He bought land near Troy which he developed into a farm and made his home until his death, and his wife also died in Missouri. Mrs. Bain now resides in Batchtown (Calhoun County, Illinois) with her children. She is the mother of 13 children, of whom the following twelve lived to maturity: William, Mary, Effie, Julia, John, Emeline, Rhoda, George, Martha, Levi, Charles, and Sarah. James, the first born, died young."

Annie WHEELER was born about 1770. She died before 1843 in Missouri. Named in her husbands will in 1834 but not mentioned when her son Edmund's estate was settled in 1843 land records in Lincoln County, Missouri.

Thomas WHEELER was born about 1749. He died 1811 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Thomas married Susanah.
Susanah died after 1811.

The will of Thomas Wheeler dated in July 1811 and proved in 1811 in Lincoln County Court reads as follows:
"In the name of God amen. I, Thos. Wheeler of Lincoln County and State of North Carolina being of a sound and perfect mind and memory Blessed Be God do this twenty ninth day of July one thousand Eight hundred and Eleven make and publish this my Last will and testament in manner as following that to say First I give and bequeath to my Beloved Wife Susannah all my estate real and personal During her Naterl (sic) Life and after Dec. to be Equal Divided Between my four Daughters, Anna, Elizabeth, Sarah, Rachel, and I here by make and ordain my Wife Sole executrix to this my Last Will and Testament in witness where of I have set my hand & seal the Date and Day above.

Jno. Turbyville & alexr. M. Corklin witnesses proved the hand writing of the testator.

The family moved to Texas. They were in the terrible wreck of the Independence off Pass Caballo. They settled in Bastrop Co, Texas.

Dorcus Guinn was named in her father's probate (Andrew Miller). Also the Guinn and Miller families both traveled to Lincoln Co., Mo from Lincoln Co., NC about the same time frame.

SUSAN GUINN (GEORGE) was born Abt. 1800, and died Aft. 1880. She married DAVID KELLER born Abt. 1798, and died Aft. 1870.

1880 Census shows Susan's mother's birthplace as South Carolina, and her father's as North Carolina.
