My 3rd g-gfather was Major Green B. Warren b. Lincoln County, Kentucky abt. 1808. He married July 9, 1838, Rebecca Dougherty b. abt. 1823 in Kentucky. Witnessed by John Adams and John Eadens.
In 1849, a Greenberry Warren and Herod Beaumont witnessed the marriage of Jacob Warren to Margaret Jane Jones, with Daniel Jones as surety. Consent of Thomas Warren for his son Jacob was witnessed by Daniel Jones.
I am trying to learn if this Green B. Warren was the same person as Greenberry Warren. They are both of the same era. A later Greenberry Warren b. abt. 1854 was the son of Joel Warren of Meade County. So I have encountered either two or perhaps three Green/Greenberry Warrens in the Lincoln and Meade areas.
If I can determine the first two Green/Greenberry's are the same person, then I think the Jacob and Thomas were probably relatives of my Green.
Later in 1856, Green's eldest daughter Martha S. Warren married Henry Sumpter Taylor, II at the home of George W. Warren. Here is another likely relative.
My problem has been that I cannot locate the parents of my Green B. Warren, but by locating his siblings and cousins, I may make some progress.Green and Rebecca raised their family in Russell County. I have seen Green on the 1860 census, but not the 1870 census though there is still a Rebecca Warren in Russell in 1870.
If anyone can assist me in unraveling my Warrens, I would very much appreciate it. I would dearly love to know who Green's parents were.
Thank you for reading this.
