COLLANCE or COLLINS? 1700s-1800s Lincoln Co.NC
Posted by: Nancy Clayton (ID *****2733) Date: June 07, 2002 at 15:18:12

Hello:

I'm searching for the parents of my GGG Grandmother. All we know about her is as follows:

Polly COLLANCE, born ca 1780-1790

Several folks have listed her as a COLLINS - but most believe it was spelled COLLANCE. She married Isaac BARGER on Feb. 5, 1809 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Isaac was from Berks County, PA.

Polly burned to death on Feb. 22, 1838. Her husband sold his land in Lincoln County, and moved to Alabama.

Does anyone have any COLLANCE info from Lincoln County from the middle 1700s till early 1800s?

Thank you.
Nancy
